Information nowadays is ingested through various layers of pixilation and repetition. How we base our opinions, especially politically, stem from a collection of pixels that make sense within the story we want to tell, the story that we want to hear. When you mix this with a culture that has racism and nationalism instilled within their blood, it creates a dangerous situation.
